Registration and EnrollmentsThe first thing to do is check our center calendar to make sure we are available during the times you would like to attend. Do this by clicking on this icon"Center Calendar". We start classes almost every Monday @ 0800 PST. You must have a reservation and have paid your required deposit or tuition in full to attend unless a prior agreement has been approved by the training manager. AvTech-Exams is in full operation every day, Monday through Friday. Deposits are payable to AvTech Exams by regularly excepted payment methods. Visa, MC, Company Check, Travelers Checks. Consider the advantage of starting your personal course when you wish, instead of starting in the middle of a series of lectures. This is one of the many reasons students prefer AvTech Exams. What you will need to bring with you. You can get the following forms from your local FAA office provided you met the minimum FAA qualification requirements. You will require an interview with the FAA. Upon providing proof of your aviation mechanical experience (30 months A&P, 18 Months A or P, 36 months as an A&P for IA), the inspector will then sign, giving you approval to test. You must present these documents to AvTech-Exams in order to be eligible to enroll. Please contact your local FAA for specific information and an appointment. NOTE: We have an FAA office located very close to AvTech-Exams. You can request authorization from this FAA office. But we highly recommend that you use your local FAA prior to arriving. If you should fail to bring all required documents to an FAA interview the will most likely NOT give the approval to test. Airframe and/or Powerplant Students Click here to fill out your A&P Form 8610-2 2 original copies of FAA Form 8610-2 Airmen Certification and/or Rating Application Authorization for any Airframe and/or Powerplant mechanics course.NOTE: These documents must both have the inspector and your original signatures "Not Copies". Any documents with "White out" changes are "NOT VALID". If Attending our Oral and Practical course only, you must also bring your passed written examination score sheets. Inspection Authorization Students Click here to fill out your IA Form 8610-1 1 original of FAA Form 8610-1 "Mechanics Application for Inspection Authorization". NOTE: Block "12. Remarks" Should have the following statement in it. "Endorsement expires in 30 days" FCC Courses Our FCC courses require no authorization. Additional items to bring You should bring a hand calculator (Scientific if attending FCC Training) and a positive attitude. Foreign applicant requirements All foreign applicants will need to take the following documents to the FAA office near AvTech-Exams for A&P licensing consideration. 1. A certified Engineers license from your country. AND 2. A letter from your company stating that you need your A&P license to work on U.S. registered aircraft. This letter should be on company letterhead paper and signed by your Director of Maintenance. AND 3. A letter from your CAA with a seal or stamp, stating that they recommend you to the U.S. FAA authorities to take the A&P examinations. NOTE: All the above letters should be originals and should state that you meet the minimum 30 months experience required by the FAA. They should also show details of type aircraft, type maintenance performed, and length of time you have been performing that type work. Attendance Policy All courses at AvTech Exams are self-paced.
